With just one week until Election Day, over 20% of Knox County’s registered voters have already participated in early voting.
As of midday Monday, Knox County Clerk David Shelton reported more than 4,100 ballots have been cast early, with nearly 550 additional absentee ballots returned.
This past weekend marked the first of two weekends offering early voting options across the county. On Saturday, 645 people voted in Vincennes, while Monroe City and Bicknell each saw 175 voters.
Early voting continues this week, running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the former Work Release Center on North 8th Street in Vincennes. Hours will also be extended this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at three locations: Vincennes, the Blue Jeans Center in Monroe City, and the Bicknell Firehouse.
The final opportunity for early voting will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, November 4, just one day before Election Day.
