The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department released information late Wednesday on a Tuesday night shooting incident.

According to authorities, 78-year-old Dallas Cooper of Oakland City brought a 47-year-old gunshot victim to the Deaconess Gibson Emergency Room around 10:07 p.m. The victim had been struck in the mouth, cheek, and arm during what officials described as a domestic disturbance.

The victim received initial treatment at Deaconess Gibson before being transferred to another hospital for further care. The injuries not considered life-threatening.

Detectives arrested Cooper and charged him with aggravated battery. He is currently being held at the Gibson County Jail. Investigators also searched a location on South State Road 57 near Oakland City as part of their ongoing investigation.

Authorities say additional charges may be filed.
