Gibson County deputies arrested two people after an alleged domestic battery incident near Somerville on Wednesday evening.

At 6:01 p.m., 64-year-old Chet McCandless arrived at the Oakland City Police Department to report a battery that had just occurred in the 6600 block of South State Road 57.

After gathering statements and documenting the scene, and because of what police said was the complex nature of the incident, both McCandless and 54-year-old Stephanie Scott were taken into custody and charged with domestic battery.
