Vincennes University IT Department is hopeful a recent symposium will inspire more women to seek careers in technology fields. The University hosted the Women IN Tech Symposium and Showcase as part of Indiana’s Women IN Tech Week last week, aimed at celebrating the achievements of women in tech and motivating future leaders.

VU’s Executive Director of Information Technology, Jaci Lederman, highlighted the event’s importance, calling it a platform to empower women to thrive in the industry. Keynote speaker Leah Curry, a retired Toyota executive, urged attendees to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new opportunities. A tech showcase and panel discussion capped the event, offering insights and hands-on experiences to participants.

With tech job openings expected to surge, VU hopes this symposium sparks more interest in tech careers for women.
