A traffic stop on State Road 61 near South Knox High School on the night of September 19th led to the arrest of a Vincennes man on multiple drug charges. Around 8:42 p.m., Knox County deputies pulled over a 1996 GMC Sonoma for a faulty license plate light. The driver, identified as Matthew Livermore, was found to be operating the vehicle without a driver’s license or insurance.

A K-9 unit was called to the scene, where the dog alerted deputies to the presence of illegal drugs. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered 4 grams of methamphetamine and 33 grams of heroin.

Livermore was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail, where he faces several charges, including:

  • Possession of methamphetamine (Level 6 felony)
  • Possession of a narcotic drug (Level 4 felony)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (Class C misdemeanor)

Additionally, Livermore received traffic citations for driving without a license and insurance. He remains in custody on a $15,000 bond.
