The Knox County Sheriff’s Department department responded to a total of 825 calls for service in August.
The department released their monthly statistics report this week which says those calls included 150 traffic stops, 39 vehicle crashes, and 27 animal complaints. In crime stats, there were 18 domestic violence incidents that were responded to along with 13 fights and 20 juvenile complaints.
Deputies made 87 arrests during the month, and the department served 233 subpoenas.
As of September 3, 2024, the jail population stood at 300 inmates, comprising 54 females and 246 males.
