The weekend after Labor Day is approaching, and that’s a big time for Daviess County. Thousands of people are expected to converge in eastern and northern Daviess County for two annual events.
In Montgomery, the 53rd Annual Turkey Trot Festival kicks off on today, September 5th, and runs through Sunday, September 8th, at the Montgomery Ruritan Park. Highlights include live music from country music artists Diamond Rio on Friday night and Neal McCoy on Saturday. The festival will also feature carnival rides, turkey races, a demolition derby, and a variety of other attractions like rodeo events, tractor pulls, and mud volleyball.
Meanwhile, just up the road, the White River Valley Antique Association (WRVAA) is hosting annual Antique Show, a staple in at the Daviess County Fairgrounds in Elnora. The show features antique tractors, farm equipment, demonstrations, and flea markets.
Both events are expected to draw large crowds, offering a weekend full of entertainment, food, and community spirit in Daviess County.
