A Shelburn man has been arrested following an investigation by the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post into allegations of domestic battery involving two juveniles.
The investigation, which began on May 9, 2024, was initiated after the Shelburn Town Marshall reported the allegations. According to authorities, Caleb J. Bays, 34, of Shelburn, Indiana, is accused of committing domestic battery against two victims under the age of fourteen. The incidents allegedly occurred in Sullivan County.
Following a detailed investigation, Sullivan County Prosecutor Ann Mischler reviewed the case and requested a warrant for Bays’ arrest. The Sullivan Circuit Court issued the warrant on August 27, 2024. Bays was apprehended without incident by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department the following day.
Bays is currently being held at the Sullivan County Jail, with bond set at $16,000.
