A routine traffic stop led to drug-related arrests in Knox County.
At just before 1-am this morning, a Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over a truck on North 2nd Street, behind Lowe’s, due to an expired license plate. The vehicle had three occupants inside.
During the stop, the driver was unable to provide identification, prompting the deputy to call for a K-9 unit. The investigation led to the discovery of methamphetamine and several smoking devices within the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Christopher L. May, and one passenger, 30-year-old Kyanna McRoberts, were both arrested.
They were transported to the Knox County Jail, where they were booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor. Both May and McRoberts remain in jail with bond set at $5,000.
