fatal-crash-1

Two fatal accidents occurred in Southern Indiana on Saturday, claiming the lives of a motorcyclist in Greene County and a driver in Gibson County.

The first incident happened just after 11 a.m. in Greene County on County Road 800 West, north of County Road 300 South. William Kaho of Lyons was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram and turned onto the road after a U-turn. Tall vegetation partially blocked his view, leading to a collision with a 2011 Suzuki GSX motorcycle driven by 24-year-old Maverick Johnson, also of Lyons. Johnson was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene. Kaho was uninjured.

Later that morning at 11:28 a.m., a fatal two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of County Roads 400 South and 350 West in Gibson County. A northbound Buick Century on County Road 350 West failed to yield to an eastbound Chevy Malibu on County Road 400 South, resulting in a right-angle collision. One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to an Evansville hospital for treatment. The names of the victims have not been released.

Authorities are investigating both incidents. The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office is handling the case in Gibson County with help from the Fort Branch Police Department.
