A solar farm in Pike County is making it official today.
Arevon Energy is holding a ceremonial groundbreaking of their RATTS 1 project which has already seen major groundwork over the past several months in Pike County.
RATTS 1 is a 191-megawatt facility that will generate enough clean energy to power over 28,000 Indiana homes.
Officials report the project is part of a broader initiative that will inject over $86 million into local governments and provide millions in payments to landowners over its lifespan.
Nearly 200 workers will be employed during construction, benefiting local businesses through increased spending in the area.
