This week, the Francis Vigo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will host the Southwest District meeting at Vincennes University.

Established in 1890, the DAR has had a presence in Knox County since the early 1900s and currently has around 200 members.

Deb Burns, Registrar for the Francis Vigo Chapter, noted that Friday’s meeting is exclusive to DAR members.

Additionally, a public event in October will honor the chapter’s namesake with a ceremony at Greenlawn Cemetery on October 27th at 2 PM.
