Vincennes State Historic Sites are hosting Homeschool Day on August 22 at the Territorial Capitol Site in Vincennes.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon and features eight educational stations for homeschoolers aged 5 to 12. Other ages are welcome too.
The activities will cover Indiana State Standards in subjects like Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts, with a focus on local and area history. Representatives from the Indiana State Museum, the George Rogers Clark National Historic Site, and the Indiana Conservation Office will participate.
Jon Mays, Program Developer at Vincennes State Historic Sites, says, “This program should be a great experience for our Indiana homeschool students. It will be a fun way to learn about local and area history, see some historical sites, and cover various academic standards in one place.”
The cost is $10 per student, with a 25% discount for Indiana State Museum members. Interested families can sign up at the Indiana State Museum’s website, indianamuseum.org.
