FROM INDIANA PUBLIC BROADCASTING
Governor Eric Holcomb remains committed to advancing Indiana’s economic interests, asserting that he cannot afford to ease his efforts in the final months of his tenure. Holcomb is dedicating significant time to international economic development, with a focus on fostering global connections.
Holcomb’s latest trip takes him to Australia and Singapore, marking his first visits to these countries as governor. The mission centers on advanced manufacturing, energy, and defense sectors. These connections were initially established at a global investment summit in Washington, D.C.
“So, it’s never that we go somewhere blind. It’s always following up on a lead or an interest,” Holcomb stated.
The governor plans to continue his international travels, aiming to leverage new opportunities arising from current geopolitical tensions.
“Creating new friendships, new alliances, new shipping lanes, new supply chains, new supply lines. And folks are de-risking and are looking for partners to grow,” he explained.
Holcomb’s trips are financed by private donations to the Indiana Economic Development Foundation, the non-profit arm of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
The governor is returning from his trip on Tuesday.
