Today marks 10 years since Rainbow Beach was re-opened.
It’s been a decade since a ribbon cutting ceremony took place at the pool located at Gregg Park following an extensive refurbishing of the facility that was originally built in 1937.
Over the years the pool was remade several times, and again came into disrepair after not having a major overhaul for about 40 years.
A project receiving lots of community and grassroots support was planned and completed for a three point eight million dollar facility which opened July 18th 2014.
Those support efforts were made in part by then Parks and Rec Department Superintendent Steve Beamon and also the late Brad Deetz.
The Vincennes Parks and Recreation Department has shared photos from the re-opening on their Facebook page.
