The National Weather Service is advising residents to stay aware of changing weather today.

The weather service offices in Indianapolis and Paducah says that the remnants from Hurricane Beryl will result in heavy rain and  a threat for short-lived tornadoes today.

One to three inches of rain is likely and up to six inches are possible in some areas.

Weather experts say the greatest threat for severe weather is  south of I-70, and east of I69 where there is a 5%-9% chance for a tornado within 25 miles of any point.

Shower and thunderstorm chances will increase throughout the day with the greatest threat from 6-pm tonight to 2-am Eastern Time tomorrow.
