A piece of Knox County history was destroyed by fire Tuesday.
Flames protruded through the windows and roof of the old Decker School as firefighters from several departments arrived on scene in the 7-pm hour.
Sources say crews went on a defensive attack to put out the fire in the building which was being utilized as a sawmill.
A boil order for Decker town residents was put into affect as a request to conserve water was made when the fire was being fought.
There were no injuries and a cause is undetermined and being investigated.
