A July 4th investigation resulted in two arrests.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department went to a Bicknell residence in reference to a report of a vehicle break in.

A handgun and other items were reported stolen.

That report was received at 8-am on Thursday morning.

At 2:30 Friday morning, a traffic stop was made on State Road 67 near Bruce Road and the stolen firearm was found in the vehicle.

19-year-old Steven Kalbaugh and 18-year-old Blake Navarro were arrested.

Both are charged with Theft while Kalbaugh is also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon.

Over the last 3 days,  the Sheriff’s Department reports they’ve gotten calls for one other theft from a vehicle along with 2 attempted thefts all occurring in the city of Bicknell.

Officers and detectives are investigating those reports.
