A $35 million apartment project has been officially announced for Vincennes.
Gibson County based Simplified Developments LLC is said to be building a complex with 240 market-rate apartments which will be 1 to 3 bedrooms each.
It will be located on Bierhause Boulevard.
In the announcement on Monday, Chris Pfaff, the CEO of Knox County Indiana Economic Development says the project will help alleviate local demand for more housing as the area’s workforce increases.
The complex is designed for talent attraction and retention as job seekers begin applying for positions at the $83 million AgroRenew Plant being constructed in the Knox County Industrial Park.
The first phase of hiring for the plant is expected to start soon.
As reported recently, the Indiana Housing Finance Authority awarded a $3.1 million loan to the project in June.
Construction is said to begin later this year, and the first building could be rented in 2025 with total completion set for 2026.
