The deadline for local Democratic candidates to file for office is fast approaching.

Wednesday at Noon is the cutoff time for the local party to select a candidate to fill a vacancy for the general election ballot.

There are currently no candidates from the Knox County Democrat party to run in the November election, meaning, the GOP candidates for several county government positions are running unopposed and will automatically take office in January of 2025.

Local voters wishing to vote for Democratic candidates will have some offices at the state level to vote for in November.

The final ballot will be set on July 15th.
