Final plans and preparations are underway for the Vincennes 4th of July Parade.

It will be on Thursday, July 4th.

Friday it was announced that Ellen Harper will be the Parade Grand Marshal as she has been awarded the 2024 Spirit of 76 Award.

The award is given each year to a resident that gives of their time, talent, energy and resources for the betterment of the community.

In a nomination letter for Harper to recieved the award, Knox County Chamber of Commerce President Jamie Neal stated that Harper embodies everything the award stands for.

Harper was given credit for leading the charge to transform Main Street into the heart of Vincennes.

Harper will be presented the award right after Thursday’s parade the dining room of the Harmony Club, 111 N 2nd Street.

The public is invited.
