The Bicknell area of Knox County was the main theme for this month’s Knox County Chamber of Commerce Lunch.
The gathering was held Wednesday at the Knox County Fairgrounds, where Vice President of the Fair Board, Will McCormick, took to the mic to tell attendees about the 2024 Knox County Fair.
It will run July 12th through the 19th and feature a new carnival and a lineup of grandstand events that were described as the best the fair has offered in some time.
In addition, Bicknell Mayor Thomas Estabrook updated the crowd on the paving, blight improvement, and housing and other developments happening in Bicknell.
He invited all to the annual Labor Day Festival which happens the last weekend in August.
Coming up the first weekend in August will be the Chamber’s annual Watermelon Festival in Vincennes.
Chamber President Jamie Neal says preparations are underway for that event at Patrick Henry Square which will include vendor fairs, pageants, and music as well as lots of of watermelon.
United Way of Knox County Director Mark Hill informed those at the lunch that next month’s Chamber Lunch will feature the kick off to the annual United Way Campaign.
Finally, Anne Pratt, the Executive Director of the Red Skelton Museum, invited everyone to the very first Red Skelton Comedy Convention, formerly known as the Red Skelton Festival.
It will include some new and special attractions like a comedy show, an appearance from a former cast member of the Red Skelton show who is now an artist.
