The Bicknell Police Chief went 10-42 for on Saturday.

10-42 is the code for “ending tour of duty”.

Chief Roger Smith is retiring after spending four years as the Bicknell PD Chief and 35 years with Vincennes Police before that.

Bicknell Mayor Thomas Estabrook gave tribute to Smith on social media saying that he and the chief worked through issues involving ordinance enforcement and other situations unique to small cities.

Estabrook went on to say that Smith’s experience and relationships in the law enforcement community paid countless dividends for Bicknell and northern Knox County.
