To no one’s surprise, most of Indiana and southeast central Illinois is abnormally dry.

The latest US Drought Monitor released on Thursday shows over 74% of the Hoosier state in the Abnormally Dry Category which is the next category below normal and above Moderate Drought.

Counties across the Wabash River in Illinois are in the same category.

The report does show most of Edgar County, Illinois falling in the Moderate Drought range.

Not a whole lot of relief is in the forecast.

Dry conditions continue today and Saturday.

There is a 50% chance of showers and storms on Sunday as temps drop a few degrees, however, the heat wave is expected to continue into next week with highs in the mid 90s to around 100 degrees.
