26-year-old Deonna J. Postin- Hollingsworth appeared Wednesday in Knox Circuit Court where she was formerly charged with Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death.
She was arrested the evening of June 6th after a nearly five hour search for a five year old girl in the Wabash River at Kimmell Park in Vincennes.
The little girl was found deceased in the water near the boat ramp.
Hollingsworth has been identified by other media as the girl’s stepmother.
At the initial hearing, Judge Monica Gilmore appointed Petersburg attorney Boyd Toler as Hollingsworth’s public defender.
A preliminary pre-trial hearing was set for September 6th and a preliminary jury trial date was set for September 24th.
According to jail logs, Hollingsworth was released from the Knox County Jail on Thursday.
