If you’ve been around the Vincennes University campus this week, you’ve likely noticed a strong police presence.
That’s because an intense active shooter training program has been taking place in and around several campus buildings.
The training is being provided by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center or (FLETC),
VU Police Chief Adam Daugherty says much of the training has revolved around single officer response to an incident…
Daugherty says the week has allowed the trainees to make mistakes and then learn from them so they are not made in real-life situations…
Officers involved in the training this week come from departments here at VU as well as the Knox and Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, Princeton Police, and agencies at Rockville, Deaconess Hospital and a Purdue University officer.
