Plans for the new Broadway Place subdivision are changing.

The housing development, which includes about a dozen lots for single family housing, is being built by Sure Clean Incorporated.

It’s located between Hart and Broadway Streets and has been in the works for about two years.

Sure Clean’s Mark Gerkin approached the Vincennes City Council this week with an update on the project and a request.

Gerkin said he ended up purchasing the spec house that was built in the subdivision due to the current soft housing market…and that is why he now wants to change from only building single family units…

Gerkin said he’s already approached the Area Plan Commission on the change, which requested he check with the city council.

The council had no objections to the new plan.

The issue will go back to the Area Plan Commission as part of the area would need to be re-zone for multi- family housing
