As residents in the region continue to clean up from last week’s storms and tornadoes, today is an anniversary of a major twister outbreak.

It was May 30th 2004 when multiple waves of severe weather moved across the state.

Fifteen tornadoes struck central Indiana, with an additional 8 more across the remainder of the state.

Damage was over $13 million.

At the time, it was the second largest tornado outbreak in Indiana.

On that day tornadoes happened in Clay, Monroe, Morgan, Fountain, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Tippecanoe, Hamilton, Jacjsib and Madison Counties.
