Pickleball has returned to Gregg Park.
Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch was on hand to celebrate the grand re-opening of the newly restored pickleball court at the park on Wednesday.
The project began in early April through a partnership with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.
The Vincennes Pickleball Club was able to raise over $100,200 in a Patronicity Grant and then received another $50,000 IHSDA in matching funds for the work that includes a new surface, new nets, new fencing and much more.
The Lt. Governor says amenities like this are important in helping communities grow.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum calls the project an example of what can happen when residents pull together…
Now that the courts are playable again, tournaments will restart soon.
On June 8th and 9th the Vincennes Kiwanis will hold their 2nd annual tourney.
You can follow the Vincennes Pickle Club on Facebook for more information on what’s happening with everything pickleball in Vincennes.
