Another week of warmer than normal temperatures and above average rainfall aided the emergence on planted farm fields.
However the wet weather kept low-lying fields saturated and unable to be worked.
In the U-S-D-A Crop Weather report for the week ending May 19th, experts say that there were only 3.3 days suitable for field work.
Corn and soybean planting progressed approximately on pace with the five-year average at 54 and 49 percent planted, respectively.
Some farmers reported that limited replanting would be necessary.
