A big day is planned for this Saturday at Chicago Park in Vincennes.

Organizers promises a whole day of activity for the whole family including three on three basketball tournaments, a nine and under baseball single elimination round robin tourney to be followed by a Home Run Derby.

There is a cost to enter the tournaments

Registration is required for the sports activities and is due tomorrow, May 22nd.   For basketball call Chris Wampler at 812-215-1379 and for baseball call Chris Hussey at 812-890-9767.

The main event during the day will the raising of a huge American Flag to be on permanent display.  That will be accompanied by a 21 gun salute to honor some local veterans.

Chicago Park volunteer Chris Hussey says several folks from out of town are expected to attend.

There is no gate fee and concessions will be available at the park.

All of the proceeds will be donated to the Vincennes Parks and Rec Department.
