Vincennes University Education students are inviting area children to the 2024 Story Walk.

It happens today at 3:30 at Kimmel Park.

The Story Walk is an outdoor literacy event for kids in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Lisa Miller, an Associate Professor with the VU Education Department explains that it’s a come and go event featuring hands-on and interactive learning as kids read the book “The Great Kapok Tree” by Lynne Cherry.

Participants will also learn from VU Conservation Law majors about animals native to this area.

VU Culinary Arts majors have baked cookies for students and their families.

VU Art majors will assist in face painting and rock painting.

The Vincennes Public Library will have a display on the Dolly program available to area students.

And again…kids get a free book of their choice.
